I have been living here in Oregon for a decade at this point, and realizing that there are so much about Oregon that I don’t know yet. I have always been little hesitant to start anything new. Something that I know I’m good at is unquestionably more comfortable. However, to live the life you cannot re-live, I’ve decided to explore things around me more aggressively. So this is my adventurer outfit. I hate to the idea that everything must be expensive to look like who you are, so here are my choices.

Vest and Denim – Zara
Denim shirt – American Eagle
Sweater – H&M

While I tend to go cheap on my clothes, I usually spend a little more for my shoes, bags, and sunglasses because I use them a lot longer than my clothes.

Boots – Cole Haan
Backpack – Mission Work Shop
Sunglasses – Rayban

If you can spare $1000 for your everyday outfit – good for you! – but most of us have budgets we have to try to follow. I like finding ways to look the way I want to present myself to the world without breaking the bank and without replacing everything so often. How do you shop for your clothes? Do you shop for some expensive items and keep the rest cheap? Do you but everything more expensive but purchase fewer things in total?

American Eagle

Cole Haan
Mission Work Shop
Rayban

Ever since I started to ride on motorcycles (yes, I unnecessarily ride multiple motorcycles), I have been wearing vest jackets quite frequently. They keep me warm while riding, and are easy to match with anything. Here is a vest that I’ve worn a lot for the past few months. This one is very thick and has unique material. Any kind of vest jacket would be a great companion for any outdoor activity, and depending on the thickness of the vest, you can wear them underneath your suit jacket. (This combo was very popular last winter.) If you don’t have any yet and are thinking about getting one, make sure to get the correct thickness for your needs. This will vary depending on your liking but I generally wear a thick vest with tall neckline for outdoor activities, as well as when I use them as an outer layer or wear them over my jacket. I wear relatively thin material with short neckline when I wear them under my jacket or layer them with other thin materials such as a T-shirt. I hope this helps. Now go grab one, and get out there to enjoy outdoor activities.

Wildlife Safari

<ENG>

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to get out of life. I’m lucky enough that I was able to come to a different country from where I grew up, and have had the opportunity to work for one of the biggest companies in the world. I couldn’t have imagined life would take me here when I was 20 yrs old. However, now I feel like I’m at the point where I need to make a decision for my career path based on what I want from my life. I’m finding myself having to choose between things like working late and climbing “the ladder” in a big corporation or making financial sacrifices to have a chance to experience more of this world by traveling around. While I was thinking about this, I thought about coming to see the wildlife (well..kinda), and see something different. So here I am at the Wildlife Safari in Oregon!

Nobody can tell what will happen in the future, and because of that, we all have to make tough decisions that could change the course of life completely. I guess that’s the part of everybody’s life that makes each moment meaningful.

First Comicon in Eugene

DSC_1352

Eugene had its first Comicon in November 2015! I went to enjoy the fun events and amazing cosplays (and support a new local event of course). I was so impressed with everyone’s costumes – from funny to serious, babies to adults, and low-budget to professional. Next year I’m totally dressing up! I haven’t decided what to go as, though, so if you have any ideas throw them my way!!

Early Spring Days

DSC_9265

<ENG>

We had an unseasonably warm day here today. It was amazing, and I was ready to get out my summer wardrobe! (Later on it rained like crazy though, so good thing I made it home before that.) I went with a simple outfit, since sunny days always bring out my laid-back side. It’s fun to be monochromatic but add interesting details like the jogger-style pinstripe pants and shiny messenger bag. By the way, the last picture is of a delicious food cart – I love eating outside in the sunshine!

Fun Activity – Motorcycle

DSC_0781

I got my motorcycle license this year and have been having so much fun on my bike ever since! I used to ride a motorcycle in Japan, but got into an accident and stopped for a long time. When I finally decided to get my license here in the U.S., I was surprised how easy it was. (Getting the license, not necessarily driving the motorcycle, although I remembered how eventually.) I didn’t really think I’d ride a bike again, but I decided to take a calculated risk. I wanted to enjoy riding again, even if it can be dangerous, knowing that to me the risk is worth the reward. I have been having such a great time taking my little bike all over town and out for country rides. It’s such a great way to see our beautiful state, and it feels so free! But definitely, at all times, wear a helmet!!

When choosing my biking gear, I did a lot of research on safety features. Of course, I wanted it all to be fashionable too! I got a lot of fun things online (like my helmet/goggles), and also found a great local store with nice gear and super friendly service. I’m still always on the hunt for good bike gear, so let me know if you have any suggestions!
